CUBE MARKS

Description

Developed initially for Newport Harbor Yacht Club, cube marks are becoming a popular choice for dinghy team racing or as an offset mark for larger boats fleet racing. Easy to transport inside support boats, while their square shape gives them good visibility in protected waters.

• Durable – 32oz per yard fabric
• Towing – Due to their bulky shape, cube marks do not tow very well and are recommended to be carried in a boat, then dropped on location.
• Stability – Using an 8-10lb. mushroom anchor for righting and to keep the anchor rode below keel depth, this design stays upright in all wind/sea conditions
• Visibility – Because of the straight lines of a cube it gives a nice straight sighting plane for the course side of a mark.
• Price – While our marks cost a bit more upfront, their durability make them much more economical in the long run.

Standard sizing for cube marks are 3’x’3’ for sub-20-minute match race courses and dinghy racing, while the 4’x4’ works well for keelboat racing.
