CYLINDRICAL & TOMATO MARKS

Description

Cylindrical marks are essentially a 6’ cylinder, which is a great shape for sponsorship/advertising signage.

Because of their shape, they are a little top heavy in bigger air (15kts. +) and therefore require a heavier counterweight than conical marks.

Tomato marks are essentially a stubby cylindrical shape.  Once filled with air, the tops and bottoms bulge out a bit making it look a bit like a big tomato.

Tomato marks are great for use as a starting pin or finish pin.  With its straight sides it gives a nice straight sighting plane for the course side of the mark.

• Durable – Both cylindrical and tomato marks use 32oz PVC polyester fabric – that’s 56% heavier than competing products.
• Towing – Due to their bulky shape, cylindrical & tomato marks do not tow as well as conical marks and are recommended to be carried in a boat, then dropped on location.
• Stability – Using a 25lb. counterweight for 8’ cylindricals, 20lb. counterweight for 6’ cylindricals and 10-15lb. counterweight for tomatoes for stability and anchor rode management, this design stays upright in all wind and sea conditions.
• Visibility – Because of the straight lines of a cylindrical mark it gives a nice straight sighting plane for the course side of a starting mark.
• With the addition of our optional “Sponsor Pockets” or “Sponsor Sleeves”, these marks make the perfect medium for sponsor signage.
• Price – While our marks cost a bit more upfront, their durability make them much more economical in the long run.

The 3’x3’ tomato is perfect for team racing, sub-20-minute match racing courses and buoys in lake sailing or offset mark for inshore racing.

Our 4’x4’ tomato is a good size and shape for starting/finishing pins as well as course marks for fleet or match racing in boats up to 40’.

The 4’x6’ cylindrical is ideal for keelboats 30’ to 50’ bay and inshore racing and with “Sponsor Pockets” or “Sponsor Sleeves” provides plenty of acreage for sponsor promotion.

The 4’x8’ cylindrical is the big boy of the cylinder line.  Great for power boat racing, triathalons or buoy racing with 50+ footers or offshore racing.  Add “Sponsor Pockets” or “Sponsor Sleeves” it provides the largest area for sponsor promotion.
